Story
Dek is a young Predator who has been cast out by his clan. To prove himself, he travels to a remote, hostile planet to hunt a legendary creature. There he forms an unlikely partnership with Thia, a damaged android, and the two set out on a dangerous journey across a world where almost everything wants to kill them.

Our take
Badlands works because it treats Dek as a real character, not just a monster. The creature design is inventive, the action is clean and easy to follow, and the odd-couple chemistry between Dek and Thia gives the film more heart than you might expect. A great pick for a sci-fi movie night.
